Global music icon and BTS member Jungkook has been named Chanel Beauty’s first-ever male Global Ambassador, marking a groundbreaking milestone for the French luxury house as it expands its vision of modern elegance and inclusivity. The announcement, made official on December 11, is accompanied by a stunning pictorial in ELLE Korea’s January 2025 issue, shot in the newly renovated Gabrielle Chanel Suite at the Ritz Paris – the legendary space that served as Coco Chanel’s private residence from 1934 to 1971.
The exclusive editorial captures Jungkook within walls steeped in fashion history, where Gabrielle Chanel once hosted luminaries of art, culture, and society. The suite, restored to its original 1930s grandeur with gilded moldings, plush velvet furnishings, and custom-designed details, provides a timeless backdrop for showcasing Chanel’s iconic fragrance portfolio, including Chance Eau Splendide and Bleu de Chanel.

In the images, Jungkook embodies a seamless fusion of contemporary style and classic sophistication. Photographed in tailored cream suiting that complements the suite’s warm palettes, he leans against ornate wall panels with quiet confidence; in other shots, he lounges amid curated arrangements of perfume bottles, his relaxed posture highlighting the brand’s ethos of effortless luxury. Thoughtful window lighting reveals subtle tattoo details, adding a personal touch that bridges his global pop persona with the intimate, artisanal spirit of Chanel Beauty.
“The Gabrielle Chanel Suite is more than a location – it is the heart of our brand’s identity,” notes Virginie Viard, Creative Director of Chanel. “Jungkook’s ability to balance strength and grace, modernity and reverence for tradition, makes him the perfect ambassador to carry forward this legacy. His global reach and authentic connection to audiences across generations align with our mission to make beauty and luxury accessible to all.”
Chanel’s appointment of a male Global Ambassador for its beauty division signals a deliberate shift in the luxury sector’s approach to representation. For decades, the brand has been synonymous with feminine elegance, but the move to partner with Jungkook reflects a broader industry recognition of beauty as a universal language.
“Beauty has no gender it is about self-expression, confidence, and the art of feeling good in one’s own skin,” says Thomas du Pré de Saint-Maur, President of Chanel Beauty. “Jungkook embodies this philosophy completely. His dedication to craftsmanship in his music mirrors our commitment to quality in every fragrance and cosmetic we create, and his ability to unite people around the world resonates deeply with Chanel’s values of community and creativity.”
The news has already ignited widespread excitement among fans and fashion insiders alike. Social media platforms have seen a surge in conversations around #JungkookxChanelBeauty, with supporters praising the partnership as a powerful step toward greater inclusivity in luxury. Industry analysts note that the collaboration could redefine how heritage brands engage with younger, more diverse audiences while honoring their core identities.
Jungkook, whose career has been defined by artistic evolution and global impact, expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity. “Chanel is a brand that has inspired me for years not just for its beauty and style, but for its commitment to innovation and timelessness,” he shares in an exclusive interview with ELLE Korea. “To be the first male Global Ambassador is both an honor and a responsibility. I hope to show that beauty is for everyone, and that confidence comes from embracing who you are.”
The January issue of ELLE Korea, featuring the full pictorial and interview, hits newsstands nationwide on December 30, with international digital editions available the same day. Chance Eau Splendide and Bleu de Chanel, highlighted in the shoot, are now available at Chanel boutiques and authorized retailers worldwide, with limited-edition packaging celebrating the partnership set to launch in early 2026.
