BTS’ Jungkook Makes History as First K-pop in Major US Children’s Educational Book Series

In a significant milestone for K-pop’s global reach, Jungkook of BTS has been chosen as the subject of an upcoming educational book aimed at elementary school students in the United States. The announcement, shared by publisher Capstone, marks the first time a Korean solo artist has been featured in the popular “Brain Candy Books” series.

The 2026 edition will introduce young readers to Jungkook’s inspiring story, covering his childhood dreams, remarkable musical journey with BTS, and personal philosophy that emphasizes perseverance and authenticity.

Capstone highlights Jungkook as one of the group’s most defining members, praising his exceptional vocal range, versatility across genres, and ability to connect with audiences worldwide.

This inclusion places him alongside global superstars previously featured in the series, such as Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, and soccer icon Lionel Messi. Other prominent names slated for this year’s books include Dua Lipa, Selena Gomez, and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The book is expected to detail key achievements that underscore Jungkook’s influence. He became the first Korean solo artist to land seven songs on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and performed the official soundtrack “Dreamers” at the 2022 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in Qatar. It will also explore his broader cultural impact  from his trendsetting fashion choices that consistently sell out products to his commanding presence on social media platforms.

Jungkook’s selection reflects the growing mainstream recognition of K-pop artists beyond entertainment. Earlier this year, in February 2026, he was named among the “25 Most Famous People in the World” by World Famous Things the only K-pop idol on the list sharing space with figures like Elon Musk, Taylor Swift, and U.S. President Donald Trump.

As BTS continues its “Arirang” world tour with upcoming shows in Mexico City, this educational nod adds another layer to Jungkook’s legacy. For young American readers, the book offers not just a glimpse into a pop star’s life but a window into global cultural exchange and the power of dedication in achieving international success.
