Multinational boy group ALD1 (Alpha Drive One) is turning up the heat on anticipation for their official launch, releasing a curated set of behind-the-scenes photos from their debut film project EUPHORIA via their official X (formerly twitter) earlier today.
Formed through Mnet’s hit survival series Boys II Planet – which drew over 2.3 million weekly viewers across Asia during its run last year ALD1 brings together talents from South Korea, China, and Japan under the creative direction of Raw Flame, whose previous credits include visual campaigns for chart-topping acts like VERIVERY and TO1. The newly released images capture the group’s diverse lineup leader Junseo, Arno, Leo, Geonwoo, Sangwon, Xinlong, Anxin, and maknae Sanghyeon in stylized school-uniform ensembles against stark, dramatic backdrops ranging from fog-shrouded industrial lots to sun-drenched mountain overlooks.
The visual narrative hints at a core theme of youthful rebellion balanced with explosive energy, a concept that aligns with their upcoming debut mini-album EUPHORIA and title track FREAK ALARM, scheduled to drop January 12 at 6 p.m. KST. The release follows the group’s moody official trailer, which racked up 1.8 million views on YouTube in its first 24 hours, and their pre-debut single Formula – a synth-driven pop track that climbed to No. 17 on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart last month.
“Each shot was crafted to tell a piece of our story – about finding strength in chaos and owning who you are, no matter what,” said Geonwoo in a brief statement shared exclusively with media partners, including Philippine-based K-pop news platform Ygkplusofficial News. Fans have already taken to social media to highlight standout moments from the photo set, with Sangwon’s mountain vista portrait trending under the hashtag #ALD1SangwonVista and Arno’s intense close-up earning praise for its “raw, unfiltered charisma.”
