BTS once again proved their unmatched global demand as tickets for their three Mexico City concerts sold out in record time. The group’s upcoming “ARIRANG” tour dates scheduled for May 7, 9, and 10, 2026 at Estadio GNP Seguros, a venue with a 65,000-seat capacity were completely snapped up in just 37 minutes after sales opened on January 24. Fans from more than 1,300 cities reportedly joined the online queue, underscoring the group’s massive international pull.

However, the rapid sell-out quickly turned into frustration for many ARMY members. Social media platforms were flooded with complaints alleging that Ticketmaster Mexico’s presale system and local promoter OCESA failed to prevent large-scale ticket scalping. Numerous fans claimed they were locked out despite early queue positions, while resale platforms soon displayed tickets at heavily inflated prices.

The controversy escalated after leaked audio circulating online suggested insider coordination with resellers. As a result, thousands of complaints were reportedly filed with Mexico’s consumer protection agency Profeco. Fan-led boycott campaigns and petitions calling for resale cancellations and additional concert dates have since gained traction.
While BTS’ return to touring continues to generate historic demand, the incident highlights growing industry pressure to improve ticketing transparency for major live events.
