ENHYPEN member Sunghoon faced an unsafe pursuit by individuals at an airport following his return from Shanghai, where he hosted his first solo fan meeting ‘HOONINSA’ as ambassador for fashion brand MUSINSA. The 23-year-old idol was filmed moving quickly through elevators and terminal corridors, at one point breaking into a near-run as people followed closely behind him.

The fan meeting, held for 210 selected supporters, featured exclusive segments where Sunghoon performed choreographed routines and shared personal style tips aligned with MUSINSA’s latest collection. Footage from the event showed high engagement from attendees, with many sharing positive feedback about the intimate, interactive format ahead of his travel back to South Korea.
However, videos of the airport incident quickly circulated across social media platforms, sparking widespread concern among fans who identified the pursuers as sasaengs – individuals known for invasive, obsessive behavior toward K-pop idols. Hashtags including #BELIFTLABPROTECTSUNGHoon trended globally for over eight hours, with thousands of supporters calling for stronger security measures and dedicated bodyguards for all of the idol’s schedules. The incident also reignited industry-wide conversations about mobbing risks, as K-pop artists increasingly face intense crowding during travel and public appearances.

As of January 12, BELIFT LAB has not released an official statement addressing the airport incident or the security concerns raised by fans. The agency had previously confirmed that Sunghoon would take on additional solo activities in 2026 alongside ENHYPEN’s group commitments, with plans for more brand collaborations and fan events across Asia and Europe.
Fans have since launched online petitions directed at both BELIFT LAB and relevant industry organizations, urging standardized safety protocols for all artists. International fan communities from Japan, France, and the United States have also coordinated efforts to share resources on responsible fan behavior, emphasizing the importance of respecting idols’ personal space and safety.
