K‑pop superstar Jisoo of BLACKPINK is at the center of a growing fashion‑industry dispute after an independent designer accused her team of failing to return multiple loaned garments, allegations that surfaced just days after her high‑profile Met Gala 2026 debut.
The claims have sparked debate over how major idols and their agencies manage borrowed clothing in high‑stakes brand collaborations.
What the designer alleges
Antwerp‑based designer Benjamin Voortmans, head of the label Judassime, posted a video on Instagram saying several pieces from his latest collection were sent to Jisoo’s team in Korea about six months ago for an anticipated album‑cover or promotional shoot. He alleges that the project was repeatedly postponed, that the items were never returned, and that his follow‑up messages went unanswered.
Voortmans identified three key designs as still missing and described them as both artistically and financially significant to his brand.
“Send my stuff back” social media backlash
In the video, Voortmans tagged Jisoo’s Instagram handle and wrote, “@sooyaaa__, send my stuff back,” calling the situation “basically stealing my stuff,” which quickly went viral alongside clips of her Met Gala look. The post also claimed he had sent invoices and contracts and taken legal steps, yet received no substantive reply from the idol’s representatives. Some fashion‑adjacent accounts and other designers have echoed similar concerns, saying they, too, have struggled with communication and follow‑through when lending pieces to Jisoo’s styling team.

As of this week, Jisoo and YG Entertainment have not released a detailed public statement addressing the accusations. Fans have split into camps, with some defending the idol while others urge clearer contracts and documentation for future brand partnerships. Industry observers warn that, if left unresolved, the situation could influence how emerging designers approach collaborations with global K‑pop stars.
