MC Mong Escalates K-Pop Dispute in Second Livestream, Levels Fresh Accusations Against Industry Figures and THE BOYZ Members

Rapper and producer MC Mong has further intensified a high-profile entertainment industry feud with a fiery second livestream on May 19, 2026, directing pointed claims toward Kim Min-jong, associates of businessman Cha Ga-won, and several members of THE BOYZ.

Speaking directly to viewers, MC Mong began by expressing regret over the impact on BPM Entertainment staff caught in the crossfire. He quickly pivoted to detailed allegations involving contract negotiations, personal finances, and what he described as orchestrated smear campaigns.

A central flashpoint involved THE BOYZ leader Sangyeon. MC Mong claimed the idol provided inflated figures during agency talks one company allegedly offered 500 million won, another 1 billion while Sangyeon reportedly stated he had a 2 billion won offer on the table. This, MC Mong argued, drove up costs significantly for his side. He pushed back against criticism of repayment demands, asking, “Is it wrong to ask for 8 billion won back? I hope we separate cleanly instead of acting petty.”

The veteran artist also addressed past financial decisions, noting he received about 1.5 billion won from a previous company but returned nearly 950 million won upon his exit. He revisited rumors linking him to former THE BOYZ member Juhaknyeon, firmly denying any joint trip to Japan or involvement in related scandals, and rejected suggestions that such stories were leaked to divert attention from his own issues.

MC Mong defended his contributions to THE BOYZ, revealing he wrote fan song lyrics and intended to share copyright ownership for members’ benefit. He praised member New for loyalty while suggesting others were more driven by signing bonuses. In his strongest remarks, he accused individuals tied to Kim Min-jong and Cha Ga-won’s family of paying large sums reportedly to women in nightlife circles to fabricate damaging stories about him. “They said they could pay any amount they wanted,” he claimed.

He expressed a desire to end the “childish war” and clarified that his social media suspension stemmed from a livestream moment referencing self-harm, not mass reporting. Kim Min-jong has indicated plans for legal action, while THE BOYZ’s agency has yet to issue a detailed response. The dispute continues to dominate Korean online discussions, with fans and observers awaiting further developments.
